Relative Truth vs. Absolute Truth

Updated: Nov 15, 2020

Sometimes I think this blog is stupid. This would be one of those times. Perhaps it is because the truth can't be spoken. Even if I were to say it perfectly, understanding the truth needs to be experiential. Words are concepts and there is a vast difference between concepts and experiential understanding.

How does someone communicate nothing you believe is true? This applies to generally accepted concepts such as free will, cause and effect, good and bad, and the existence of objects. To believe that any of these things are true, first requires us to be completely lost in the dream.

Let's take a simple example. Trump is a bad man. While on the relative level of time and space, yes, I agree, he is terrible for the world.

That said, to say that Trump a bad man, is not something that I could possibly utter in wisdom. To believe in good and bad, means that I am already deep into believing the matrix is real. It requires me to believe that I have my own independent existence outside of Consciousness, and therefore, obviously different than Trump. (No one has ever experienced anything outside of Consciousness)

Who am I to judge reality or creation? Everyone and everything is always doing their job perfectly. It is this understanding that comforts me when a person's behavior irritates me. Rather, I could instead choose to say thank you for giving me an opportunity to see the truth more clearly (if I am open and ready to see it). Of course, this same understanding can be applied to bigger problems happening in the world.

Trump did not create the problems, but he seems to be accelerating them. He is definitely showing us who we are, and where we are at as a society. It is on full display for the world to see. And maybe this is his gift, because we are running out of time...the world is facing an existential crisis and we just can't keep going down our current path. It is not sustainable.

This website is dedicated to the absolute truth. In America, there is an assault on the (relative) truth. Misinformation is being spread as a political strategy. I've known for a long time that people are not interested in the absolute truth, however, the American election made it clear to me that many people are not interested in relative truths either, such as COVID, or climate change. These truths are inconvenient.

Former chief of staff, marine general John Kelly, said of Trump, "The depths of his dishonesty is just astounding to me. The dishonesty, the transactional nature of every relationship, is more pathetic than anything else. He is the most flawed person I have ever met in my life," Meanwhile, Biden appears to be someone with real character, a competent man of integrity wishing to serve the people. Truthfully, I don't understand what is happening in America.

It feels to me, the further we get away from truth, as a society, the more problems we are going to have. Ultimately, the only thing that will save the world (I don't see it happening) is to recognize the truth that we (animals included) all share the same Being.  Solutions to problems would happen naturally from this place of understanding because what's good for you, is also good for me. We would always seek win-win. Saving the planet would probably be job #1, I'm guessing.

We overlook the intelligence of the universe because we believe that it is made out of dead stuff called matter. It's not. It is made out of this stuff I call Consciousness, the reality that perceives. There is an obvious intelligence to everything we see, touch, taste and smell. Naturally, I accept that COVID is part of this intelligence, as is Mr. Trump, who is somehow playing his role perfectly. To what end? I don't know.

I am watching the movie like everyone else, however, I am doing this from the comfort of knowing that it is an illusion, which means there is no sense of doom. No anxiety.

While its true that the world is an illusion, that does not mean do nothing. I am still going to oppose Trump, pursue the truth, and help the turtle cross the road. I might even put myself in harms way to stop traffic (something I did last summer).

The best I can do is to play my own instrument perfectly in tune the best I can. And I will continue to make mistakes along the way. I trust that somehow my 'mistakes' will work out perfectly too, somehow, because the intention of my actions are always more important than the deed or the intended outcome.

So what is to be done? Grab some popcorn and enjoy yourself. Hopefully you like watching tragedies. Perhaps St. Augustine said it best, "Love and do whatever you want." because at the end of the day, the person that loves the most is the real winner of this game of life.
