Marci: "Investigating the certainty that there is consciousness, I notice that the evidence is non phenomenal, but undeniable. Am I on the right track with my investigation"?
Francis Lucille: "Yes, very good"
Marci: "Even the interest in the question brings a sense of rest or peace to the body and it would seem this is the perfume of the interest in the truth. Is resting attention on the question itself of benefit."?
Francis: "No, don't make any effort. You got the answer. You get the answer every time you need it. Know that there is a place in you where you can find the answer, but this place is timeless (as you experienced)."
"We have to understand that you don't displace this place that you reach in this timeless moment. You have always been there. So when the next moment comes you are still there. So you don't need to make any effort to stay there. If you make any effort to stay there, to make this moment of timelessness linger, then you fall back into the jaws of time."
"Don't do anything. Know tht you are beyond time and live happily. Know that I am. This I am. This place which is you. And as a result, be still. Be happy. The attention rests on the question only out of interest. Allow for the attention to naturally rest on the question when you are interested in the answer. That's the best way."
Elizabeth: "How do I handle the persistent feeling of impending doom? To just establish that I am Consciousness and not a feeling?"
Francis Lucille: "The feeling of impending doom is the result of a misunderstanding. The only way to really handle it, is not to handle it directly, but to go to its source which is the fundamental misunderstanding of what we are."
"The fundamental misunderstanding at the root of it is to believe to be a woman. You are Consciousness. You are not a human body."
"Even if it seems so natural for you to say 'I am a woman'. No. That's ignorance. Question it. Question it constantly. You are Consciousness. Besides, you don't know as Consciousness that you are limited. You don't know that you were born. You have always been with yourself. You have never been estranged from yourself."
"You are not in time. And you are safe. And the sense of impending doom comes from a lack of safety, and I lose my sense of safety the moment I believe to be in time."
I had a sense of doom for a long time. I am very familiar with this feeling. I now understand that awakening to the truth of what we are...understanding what is everything...is the only possible cure. Everything else is temporary relief at best.
